It's finally the end of the quarter and I've officially been working on Mapmaker for a little more than 9 months. What a journey it has been! It's incalculable to know how many hours I've spent on this passion project, but it brings a glimmer to my eye to see it come together.
With that being said, here is the 6th draft of the film (which includes all of the animation and the currently finished backgrounds):
Wow. Just wow. It excites me to imagine what else will be completed in the next three months. I'll still be slowly working on this film. I must see it through! From now on I will continue to finish the backgrounds before I start the tedious process of coloring the characters, as well as creating VFX animation.
Thank you to everyone who has been reading these blog posts and has given endless support for my art, and my owls. I read back to them and keep the messages close.
Thank you to my classmates from pre, production, and post for their ridiculous encouragement, and for inspiring me every week. They are the most creatively notable people I have come to know and I am extremely proud of their work.
Lastly, thank you to Professor Mark Hamer for trusting me and believing in my overly-ambitious urges. I have learned to be more thoughtful of my time and efforts and uplift my classmates. You are an excellent teacher and mentor who indiscriminately sees creativity within anyone, regardless of their skill level. I admire that and will take that with me.
Thank you again, everyone. See you on the other side!
